A couple of good bits to add for v2 would be the option to bring out picture-in-picture viewing outside Spotify and a toggle to just turn off video in the app. Their video content is designed to compliment audio podcasts rather than replace them, so you don’t need to keep your eyeballs fastened on the app to know what’s going on and they can play in the background, just like regular Spotify audio. Hope this helps some folks who are tired of waiting for Spotify to add podcasts to the desktop app! Spotify says video podcasts are available in every market where their traditional audio podcasts are. However, I cannot navigate to its detail page on the desktop by clicking the podcast title in the player.
My spotify mac app is not working android#
If I'm listening to Spotify on my desktop, I can navigate to a podcast via my android app and play it, and it will start playing on my desktop. Not able to click the podcast title to show its details on the desktop app though. For me, I was listening to spotify on my desktop as per usual, but then navigated to and played a podcast via my Android app and it just worked. But when I flick it over, either via the mobile phone or the desktop app, it won't play on the desktop. Desktop app recognises that a podcast is playing (as shown in the pictures).

Podcasts play happily on phone and ipad, but will not play on the desktop app.
